Blog – Noun: A Web site on which an individual or group of users record opinions, information, etc. on a regular basis.
This is my first attempt at a blog so please have patience with me. I want to have fun with this, share some thoughts and ideas. I’m sure it will evolve and change over time.
A little about me: I’m a mom, a wife, a friend, an employee, an empty nester, with a passion for travel, entertaining, and a love for life. I love music, not all kinds but most, and I sing way too loud for someone that can’t sing. I can get lost in a good book in a heartbeat and do so every chance I get. My seemingly ordinary, normal life combined a rather overactive imagination has given me a love of storytelling.
I am Roxanne. I am married to He Who is My Soul Mate, as corny as that sounds, I really believe it to be true. We have a love of good food and wine and are always looking for new and different places to eat both at home and wherever we travel. These are just a few of the things we share a passion for. There are many other things where we differ. We’ll elaborate more on all this later.
We’ve only just begun to do more travelling in the past few years as our one and only male child, The Boy, finished his schooling and began to establish his career in this great big wonderful world. He pops in and out of our house on a somewhat regular basis to drop off and store stuff, pick up other stuff, and to raid the fridge and pantry. He is smart, funny, hardworking, and our favoritist!! We may be just a bit prejudiced, but we think he’s pretty damn special.
I’m rather quiet when I’m around people I’ve just met, which at times has been misunderstood to be stuck-up or standoffish. I’m really rather shy and cautious about allowing people into my life. I like to take my time to get to know someone, when I do let someone into my life totally, I am fiercely loyal to them and the friendship. He Who is My Other Half, is more outgoing than I am. He can talk to anyone….and usually does. I admire this trait in him and because of this when we’re together I follow his lead and we’ve been very fortunate to have met some very interesting people.
I look each day for positive and or witty or funny sayings, things that apply to my life now. I believe in being positive and yes, it’s true that things happen that really suck and just make you shake your head. But really if you didn’t have the sucky things then how would you know to appreciate the really good things!!! It’s all part of life!
